Japan's Meiji Dairies Corp. and fresh dairy products manufacturer Yoplait will launch yoghurt products under a common brand from March next year. Tokyo-based Meiji has signed a licence contract with the French group, which is jointly-owned by Sodiaal and PAI Partners. Italian dairy group Parmalat revelead 3rd quarter results where it has raised its 2009 FY forecast however its profit shows a 55.6% decrease versus last year same period. The company underlines that with EBITDA up 20.6% to EUR265.3m. EBITDA margin rose to 9.3%, up from 7.6% in the comparable period of last year.

European farmers organisation Copa-Cogeca has welcomed the decision this morning (19 October) by EU ministers to back more urgent measures designed to succour Europe’s hard-pressed dairy sector.
