PepsiCo has opened a R&D centre next to its Frito Lay factory in Kocaeli an industrial province of Turkey in northwest.

It is understood that the company selected Turkey to build the centre as the market is seen as of strategic importance given its young population and its geographical location in between continents. The R&D centre is expected to serve PepsiCo's markets in Southeastern Europe and employ 15 people.
